I'm thinking about getting a new fuel pump because i think its to loud and I'm afraid it might go out. Are they all loud when you first turn the key on

Some are some arent. I have an electric lo-pressure hi volume pump on my ranger (5.0, AOD), and that thing is loud. It also matter how much gas you have in your tank. EFI pumps are "wet" pumps, which means they have to be submerged to help keep them cool. Try to keep your tank above 1/4, that should help with the noise.
But on another note, my dads T-bird, the pump on that is VERY loud, the less gas it has in it the louder it is.

My 88 and 93 sounded the same. My 93 is just loud enough to hear at idle... but thats it.

well my OLD fuel pump was pretty loud, swaped a 190lb bbk in there and I can barley hear it anymore very nice...

I have a 255lph in-tank and the only time i hear it is when i turn the ignition on and it briefly runs.

I have the 255 high pressure fuel pump. And mine does the same.

it does that every time you turn the power on with the key. the fuel pump is priming the rails

Very loud, thats because im running 2 pumps. I can here them hum.

I have some kind of new pump, i can hear it all the time..its a high pitced whine. I don't know the rating...is there any way to find out without dropping the tank?

Mine is LOUD. I can hear it over my idle with american flows on.
