302-351?????
Does anybody know, if a 351 clevlend with bolt up in my 88 gt with no problems? And if the throttle body and intake will bolt up to the 351.
Also would i be better off to just but port and polished 351 heads on my 302 or go with a 351, and if i go with a 351 should it be a clevlend, or a windsor, i'v also heard that 351 clevend heads won't fir on my 302 is this true???
Thanks,
buddy

RE: 302-351?????
get a windsor. more parts available and is very compatabel with your car. youll need a new intake manifold, headers, i think motor mounts, a new hood (cowl) and a few other things. a lot of info on the subject on this forum

RE: 302-351?????
Cleveland heads will work, but there is a lot of machine work that needs to be done, and even then they tend make power VERY high in the rpm band.
Stick with the Windsor.
I have posted my writeup numerous times.
I will be easy to find in the top 5 threads in the 351w section here.
If not let me know,

Definatly not....theres alot more work involved Trust me...i was just test fitting my 377Cleveland stroker into my 4 banger coupe....man..its a tight fit...if anything im going to need a tubular K member seeing that there is 0 starter to K member clearance.
But 351Cleveland swaps are definatly different...off the beaten path of things...very difficult...but they make gobs of power up around 6500-7500K.
If you dont mind doing the work and you already have the motor...the only drawback is...351C's are hard to find parts for and they're very very exspensive to build now. Just the Fox Cleveland headers start around $550 and from what ive found, only Kooks and Hooker make decent headers for them.
Stick with the Windsor and some aluminum heads, preferably a set of 185 AFRs, the you'll have a comparable motor to a 351C.
