what would make more power/ be faster ..... and h/c/i or vortec V-1 SC at 6 psi?
for the H/C/I i was thinkin afr 165's, trickflow street heat, and tfs1 cam..... both of these ideas will cost about the same

I like the head, cam, intake myself. I'm a N/A though. I used to have that same combo on my 331, it ran great.

h/c/i should make more horsepower, but I'd rather buy the V-1.

RE: whats better

If your using the stock block, dont worry about 'building' the motor, just freshen the bottom end up with new bearings, etc. You probably wont even have to bore it, most of the 5.0's ive been working on lately, none of them needed boring over. A bottle brush hone job does the trick and even thats just to let the rings seal.

But just freshen the stock bottom end, the rods/crank/pistons are stronger than the block, so thats why you shouldnt worry about building it. If your supercharging it, i'd recomend studding the heads and buy some decent head gaskets, even with 6psi, its just good practice, later you may want to move up to 8+psi to make some real power so thats one less thing right there. Then get some decent heads and a cam, if you plan on running bigger valves and/or a larger cam, go ahead and buy some more pistons with bigger reliefs, you can fly cut the stock ones but it weakens them and your still limited to the size of cam/valves you can run.

Thats my 2 cents.
