I was talking on the phone yesterday with Summit to order rings for my 1988 and he told me they switched to metric (Or switched something) in either 1988 or 1989. I can't remember.

http://store.summitracing.com/partde...700+115&orig=1

this is what I am receiving, and I hope it's right. says 1986-1988, so I guess they switched in 1989.

I have a spare set of Hastings rings laying here, i mearsured about 6 of them, everyone of them is on the money at 0.0076, no variations on any of them, thats the compression and scraper rings.

Would they not go into the lands at all? Or is they're not enough clearance from ring to land?

they would NOT FIT AT ALL, thats the 5/16 and other size 3/16, those are the wrong one for a 5.0 ho forged trw piston.

so 1.5mm and 3 or 4mm thicknes is the ones I guess.

u have a whole set?

Well, those must have been the ones for my 69' 302 then [sm=headbang.gif]

Stupid me..oh well.

But i have about 4 sets of rings laying around, 2 sets of them are for my Cleveland, then there are these Hastings rings, but i dont know where the hell my 5.0 rings are, if i could ever find them i'd measure them for you and post them up. I may have given them away...damn, i have to much stuff laying around in my garage. Its packed to the ceiling with all kinds of car sh*t i dont need, im a pack rat when it comes to car parts.
