Default Whats up with this engine?

So i'm looking at the car for sale and the guy put in a new 347 and only has 5500 miles on the engine but his listing says this " Sporadically blows out white smoke and the car seems to be running rich. I have had this checked out by Excessive motorsport and they couldn't find any problem or that there is a problem."

Does anyone know what this could be? Should i take a chance or is it not worth it?

Ask if he has it dyno tuned for the swap

has he removed stuff like EGR and not turned it off in the EEC?

Ask him to get it fixed, its obviously not right. And if you have any doubts when buying a car, don't get it. It usually means you'll regret it.

^^man is right about that. Trust your gut instinct. Don't go in blinded because it looks like the car your going to fall in love with. Test drive it and nit pick every little thing. Those little things are what become the big things. Just my 2 bits.

Running rich could just be an adjustment made somewhere.

As far as the white smoke I am assuming this is coming from the tail pipe. This is common with 347 kits that are a little on the cheap side or the company you bought the kit from has not perfected their kit.

What happens is because a 347 has a longer stroke which is induced by a crank that has larger push/pull aspects then when the crank turns and gets the 3oclock or 9 oclock positions (this is if you are thinking the bore hole lines up with 12 oclock) then the actual piston heads tilts just enough to let some oil through. Which then burns on that or the next cycle and there comes your white smoke.

This is a common problem among 347s....but again only if the kit that was bought was not from a company that has perfected that problem...
