A9L in an auto?
my mechanic replaced my C3W with an A9L out of a '92 5.0 HO with a 5 speed
i read somewhere you cant read codes with these in auto's=
he also said he tested it for codes and nothing came up
car runs good and strong, a little on the lean side as you can smell gas when sitting. transmission shifts quicker than it did before but i think my C3W was chipped for the AOD because i could hold any gear to any rpm.. cant do that anymore with the computer.
think the computer is the problem or my tranny just showing signs of 'needing replacement'?

RE: A9L in an auto?
You have the wrong computer. Take it back to the mechanic who did this to your car and tell him to fix it!
The correct computer will be either the same as what you pulled (C3W), or you could use an A9P.
I am not familiar with your car, but there may be some re-pinning needed to run the A9P.
Let us know how it goes.
