2nd gear is giving me the same problem. If I take it above 4,000 rpms it grinds going into second, every single time. It is your syncros. Take it to a tranny shop and bite the bullet on this one.

You might want to be prepared ot have to get a new second gear. Ours grinded for a long time and it messed up the dog teeth and the gear was trash.

yea, the one i rebuilt, the guy at the tranny shop asked me if i had sprayed it when it broke because my gears were shattered, lol. But just double clutch it into 2nd, keep it from messing the gear up to badly.

when your going from 1st to 2nd...dont just put it in 2nd, throw it in neutral then let the clutch out and then press the clutch back in and put it in 2nd gear. That why 2nd wont grind.

i had to do that for awhile when my 2nd gear was bumbing out on me. Or i would just go from 1st-3rd and skip 2nd all together. Luckily 3rd had enough get up and go with the 3.73 so that it wouldnt bog down or anything.
