Default 1985 Mustang Gt Restoration

Hey I have a 1985 Mustang GT with T-tops and a 5-speed. I am currently in the process of restoring it. It currently has Mac shorty headers, K&N Air filter on the stock dual snorkel air cleaner, All New tires, New windshield, BBK H-pipe with converters, Flowmaster cat-back exhaust, stock gears on the 7.5 inch rear, koni shocks and struts, centerline springs, stock sway bars, brand new u-joints as of yesterday, new transmission mount, short throw shifter, MSD custom wires and coil, Motorcraft plugs, and i am pretty sure the engine is all stock, but i am not sure... The engine is out of a later model mustang probably somewhere around an 1987, but was converted to a carb and put in my car. My plans are to have a autocross / dragcar, just something that I can use to smoke everyone else, specially those damn gm's. What im looking to do is, get an 8.8 inch rear with 3.73 gears, a steeda g-trac bar, steeda front and rear sway bars, or addco, caster camber plates, electric fan, underdrive pulleys, off-road h-pipe, new brake lines, New seats, full subframe connectors, strut tower brace (but i cant find one that will clear the dual snorkel cleaner), aluminum drive shaft, now as for the engine, I was looking into major upgrades...I would either like to get some gt-40 heads and bolt those on, or just drop in a ford racing 302- 347 crate motor, and i want a supercharger or a blower, and then I will def need to upgrade the rear and most likely the tranny... does anyon have any suggestions for me as to what i should do, or any places i could go for help and parts...

Default RE: 1985 Mustang Gt Restoration

If you have an endless amount of money I would go with all maximum motorsports stuff for the suspension! Buy the H&R springs and bilstein struts and shocks from them to! They have the best stuff! I would build your own 347 as opposed to buying a crate motor. Dont forget to upgrade the brakes to! no sense in having all the horse power if you cant stop it! Especially if you are going to auto cross it. I have the m-2300 brake kit from ford, well worth the money! owe and a vortech supercharger!
