Rockers don't really go bad, unless they physically break. If your getting valvetrain noise its likely another problem, like lifters or worn valve train parts. But yea 1.7 is the way to go if your still using the stock cam, and harland sharp are full roller rockers and their light aluminum if Im not mistaken, which makes them light and easy on the rev's.

What he means is that they can handle whatever rpm's your stock cam is going to give it.
Plus it will rev up quicker because they have bearings and the stock rockers dont.
Replacing the lifters and pushrods are a great idea.
(how many miles do you have on your motor? Also what kind of oil pressure do you have?

Does any company make 1.6 full roller rocker? Since I have an '86 I can't touch the valve train unless I replace stuff with stock specs due to the flat top pistons.

you shuold be good with the clearance and a alm. roller rocker is an alm. roller rocker do not need to spend an outrangous amount on them most only differ in the wieght but that does not make a hole lot of differance. look at the summit brand or jegs brand. I personnally wouldnot change the lifters with out changeing the cam.
