Someone please sticky this!
Alright boys and girls, you were wondering and some of you were kind of skeptical about taking up slack in your accelerator cable and allowing your motor to actually go wide open. Or maybe it seemed kind of complicated or hard to you? Or maybe you were afraid of gaining a tenth or two (probably more for most of you) in the 1/4 or the 1/8th mile? Well here's how to get your pedal at perfect heigth, add some more (SOTP difference) power, and add a ton of throttle response in less than 5 minutes...
Tools you'll need:
Some muscle
&
a long, flat prybar
Step 1:
So I didn't get my carpet dirty or damage it, and to give my self some room to work I took out my floor mat and peeled back my carpet so that it was out of the way
Step 2:
There was a nut (that is shown in the picture) that I rested the end of the flat pry bar on, I then SLOWLY began to apply pressure upwards making sure not to be in a rush to get it done and break anything, thus bending the pedal upwards. I continued bending it upwards until it had about a 1/2 inch of clearance, so that the go fast pedal bracket no longer hit the floor mat or the carpet when WOT is applied. This results in actual WOT and I noticed a lot more throttle response.
Good luck guys! If you didn't notice a difference you didn't bend it far enough. I find this method 50,000,000,000,000 times easier than putting a spacer on the cable.
