Default went to track tn, horrible times, help me**updated w. tonights times**

ok so i went to the track tonight, first time ever racing my stang down the track. first time ever racing anything down the track. i did really bad, im dissapointed... maybe you guys can help me out.

ok 1st off, car is compleetly stock w. a pro50 shifter being the only thing on it that ford didnt put on themselves.

1st run. spun thru first horribly.

1/8 10.938
mph 72.16

1/4 16.244
mph 93.89

2nd run... TERRIBLE bogged 1st, then spun 1st, and missed 2nd(tranny needs new syncro as is)

so i know my 60s are my prob... there both way too high... that has to do w. the spining 1st thing... can anyone give me any pointers on what to do diff next time... and also. w. that trap speed what should the car be running? thanks alot... its almost embarassing to post this up here

start with a new transmission, sticky tires, and learn how to launch... just spend more time at the track and you will get better

yea i didnt expect it to be great, but damn... expected better thena 16.2... what should this car be running?like what should u be shooting for? its compleetly stock minus a shortthrow shifter, and has about 69000mi on the motor, more on the body. and yes, a trans rebuild is in the very near future as are diff tires.... as far as my launch... any advice?

Get some slicks and launch the hell out of it, then power shift the sh*t out of it and then work on those reaction times, those are killing you also. Your reaction times should be well below 0.100

But like i said, get the slicks and launch it at like 4,000rpm and keep slam shifting it till your tranny finally dies on you. Then get another one and do the same to that one, its the only way to race, when you break stuff, your driving the car the way it should be driven.

reaction time had nothing to do w. my 1/4 time... and i do plan to get some drag radials just as soon as i can get a hold of another set of (2) rims.
