i am gonna race against 2 kids from my school tomorrow. (00 honda civic si and 89 5.0 lx) We are gonna start at a stop and i was wonderin how i should get off the line. i have an automatic with a shifter. I do not wanna be stuck there doin a burnout. i will let you guys know how i do tommorrow

then launch from idle.... ur gonna spin on the street with stock tires if u foot brake..... u will kill the honda but i dont know whats done to this other stang

It might be close with the SI if its modified. Ive seen those cars run 14's.
Im guessing your car will run high to mid 14's with what youve got done to yours.

my buddy has a 02 civic si....just watch out somtimes you dont know what those things can do.....he smokes me everytime.....he runs a 13.5 at the track regularly....granted he has more money in it than the car costed but lol you never know what you are running against

What else is done to the other cars? If you don't want to spin coming off the line in street tires, you need to just go from idle. You try to footbrake it, your going to blow the stock tires off. post when it happens.

the honda only has a carback and i dno about the stang. i herd it was fast but i also heard he lost to a pontiac GTP

well first GTP's are fast.. secondly.. dont you have schoolwork to do... ... no need to be street racing.. but if you dont want to spin.. get a different car..

Don't even power brake it.
Just punch, the 5.0 torque will take take care of it.
