Ok. Where do I install the nozzle?
I'm most likely going with a small wet shot of nitrous in the near future (25 - 50 HP jet, which will result in a slightly higher HP gain due to the fact that I'm already running 10 PSI.) Problem is... I don't know where to install the nozzle! It's a wet shot, so I gotta get it after the MAF, but before the TB. That doesn't leave me much room and I really don't want to drill and end up having it in the wrong place. Any suggestions for nozzle placement in a boosted engine? here's a pic of what I mean (as far as how little room I have between MAF and TB. Sorry for the crappy quality... it's a cellphone pic.

Why is the MAF so close to the TB? I would move the MAF farther away and put the nozzle between the MAF and TB.

You could consider modifying the before-MAF pipe, cut a section out, and add it after the MAF. That would give you plenty of room for a nozzle.

RE: Ok. Where do I install the nozzle?
I actually did think about that, but then i got scared and changed my mind real fast, LoL. Normally I wouldn't be concerned... but I'm not good enough to do it myself. And even if I did have someone else do it, I would be concerned that it wouldn't be a clean enough install. And with 10 PSI of boost, the air would find any weakness (i.e. leaks) in the modification and it would F up the whole system.
This is kind of the reason why I was going to run with a 25 dry shot.... so I could place it before the MAF. But I'm a bit scared a dry shots now, even if its only a 25 shot. Afraid to run to lean or stress the fuel to its limits. |

Gotcha, I'm with you on the weld quality thing, especially with 10lbs of boost. What people do with Grand Prix GTs/GTPs is they drill and tap the TB-this is an option.

RE: Ok. Where do I install the nozzle?
i would just use a plate system. most wet kits are plate anyways. it mounts behind the throttle body.
i see a new block in your future with any kit. |
RE: Ok. Where do I install the nozzle?
Never thought of that option...that would be easier.
Yeah..when it's time for a new block it will be a 351W anyway :) |
RE: Ok. Where do I install the nozzle?
okay, I can't seem to find a plate anywhere that would work. I found some kits out there that come with plates, but those are non-adjustable and come at like 150 HP. I just want a simple plate that I can tap a nozzle into. Am I going to have to buy a solid spacer and drill it myself?

there is fixed 125's and adjustables (40-80) and 50-175. you can put any level you want as you just need to buy the right nitrous and fuel jets. |
RE: Ok. Where do I install the nozzle?
Just go to a smaller head pulley, problem solved!!;)
