How did I beat a modified 98 mustang with my stock?
My buddy bought a 98 mustang Gt with flowmaster system, air intake, throttle bodies, upgraded clutch and we raced and I beat him 4 times in a row incleduing up to 110 mph. I noticed his car got alot less traction then mine since his tires were not that great. What kind of rear ends did ford put in 94 mustang gt's is it possible i have a factory locking rear? I am attributing my win to more traction. Out of curioisity what Horse power is comming out of a

My cars feels faster stock then the 96 svt cobra with flowmasters and not this 98 modified gt did. Is the 5.0 alot more powerful if so why did ford stop using them? I am also begining to think my car was somekind of an upgraded factory GT model does such a thing exist in 94? Thanks

Do a search to find the power numbers youre looking for. As far as the win, there is a lot of variables, but traction was prob a big factor. Youre tranny will also have a big effect on what kind of times youre running. Was the race from a stop? highway roll?

Also, the 96 - 98 GTs were garbage in my opinion. Well, maybe not garbage, but If I was going for a 4.6 GT I'd run a 99+. Those were some ugly years, LoL.

1991 GT convertible w/3.73s (even when I had 2.73s)
1995 GT
1996 GT
1998 GT
1997 Cobra SVT felt about the same (don't ask how!)
It could just be that the torque of the 5.0 was fooling me into thinking my car felt faster. But the 96 and 98 GTs felt slow *** hell.

Well, Im not sure how to explain it but I had a similar experience. I raced my friends 04 5spd GT w/ bolt ons (full exhaust, etc.) and my car was stock auto w/ slp's. We went from about 35 to 110 and it was dead even.... dont know how.. dont know why but thats how it turned out.
