Startup
When my car is cold in the morning, this happens every morning exactly how I say it does btw, I go to start my car and it dies in about 1-2 seconds.
I try again and it idles for a bit around 700-1200 rpms for about 30 seconds, then stalls.
But it always stays running after the third start.
It's not really a problem, don't care much if its resolved.
But what could the problem be, and how could I fix it if I wanted to?

RE: Startup
Try turning the key on but not all the way to start and let the fuel pump run a second or two to build pressure before you go to the start position and see what if anything this does to help this problem. The fuel pressure bleeds down overnight and you may not be giving the pump time enough to build pressure before you start the engine.

RE: Startup
its most likely ur iac, take both leads off the battery and let it sit for 15 minutes+ then touch em together and then put them back on. it will be hard to start after that but c if it gets better. if not try replacing the iac

RE: Startup
I would have to agree with Bobby.
Sounds normal for a mustang when the iac starts to go.
Try tapping it a little before you start it next time, see if that changes anything.
If it does, maybe you can clean it out and put it back on.

RE: Startup
the iac is the idle air control valve, and it does just like the name says, it controls the amount of air entering ur throttle body at an idle. it is located on the right side of the throttle body. there is two valves inside of it that open and close at the same rate to allow enough air into the engine, if it getes carboned up then the valves wont open like they are suppose to, this causes a lack of air causing your engine to stall. hope this helps

RE: Startup
Unhooking the battery isn't gonna do anything for the IAC. You should remove it and clean it first with carb cleaner and the brake cleaner. Make sure you get inside it good and let the carb cleaner soak a bit inside. Be sure to use the brake cleaner after as it removes all residue left from the carb cleaner.
