Damn Car won't start
So here's the story, I've been driving my civic for a while now, since I had my stang gutted to get rid of alot of rust inside. And the other day the honda starts tapping really hard( I beat the sht out of it, hardly ever shift under 6grand) so I decided I can't drive it anymore b/c I dont want to mess it up anymore, until I fix it. So I reinsure the stang, sand down all the rust, fill in some holes with fiberglass, prime it, paint it, put carpet and seats back in, go to start it and the damn thing wont start, the engine is cranking but its not starting, I can't hear the fuel pump so Im figuring its that. My question is whats the easiest way to test the pump and what else could cause it to not come on, I have an 89 5.0 LX.

RE: Damn Car won't start
ok so heres the deal I replaced the fuel pump, still nothing so i disconnected the relay under the seat and wired up a switch so the fuel pump will work....I get the fuel pump to work and now the car still wont start....the first few times I tried to start it, it would start to run as soon as I let the key go but then it would quickly turn off....now I was thinking it was a bad relay b/c it wasnt click on and it would have any power going to the fuel pump when it should but it did have power going into the relay....so i now suspect there is some sort of short somewhere that would activate the relay...its not the inertia switch b/c I already tried jumping that so it most be something that would cause the relay to no function and to cause the something else to not function since it still wont start even with the fuel pump hot wired...so my question is what would cause the relay to not work and the car to act like this
