pcm swap problems
Hey, i'm new to this forum.. i have a 94 gt coupe little done here and there. but i'm frustrated with obd1's untunable ****. i was going to put and obd2 in it and start from scratch tunning it. my question is what all do i need to do the swap and how do i go about doing this. i know the computer is a direct plug in since ford was getting ready to switch to the obd2 with this body style.

RE: pcm swap problems
to make it easier get a twEECer or PMS unit and have someone tune it for you. you'll get a lot more out of it vs. just changing to a new style computer that still wont recognize your mods...especially thenew cam

RE: pcm swap problems
Changing a '94-'95 SN95 to OBD-II is not a plug and play deal. You'll have to make a lot of changes, addition of sensors, wiring, etc....It would be more effective (and cost effective) to install a Tweecer or PMS as 50mikey mentioned....no rewiring required....

RE: pcm swap problems
Here you go....check both alternatives out....
http://www.tweecer.com/

BTW...a Tweecer R/T is what we're using on a '95 GT S/C w/42# injectors, etc, etc I'm working on....works great.

RE: pcm swap problems
a PMS is way more than i'm looking to spend, the tweecer is a little more resonable in price, but does it hook to a computer so i can review what the engine was doing when i make a run, and can i havea friend in the car tunning it on the fly when i'm going down the road?

The tweecer module has 5 positions, 4 can be tuned, and 1 allows the use of the stock tune.
Don't bother with the base version, the TwEECer RT will allow you to datalog. Trying to watch your sensors while running will be over whelming and un-reliable.
Spring for the RT, you won't regret it.
As with Joel, I love the tweecer. For the price, it allows a great deal of flexibility.
