my buddy brings us his car and its smoking like crazy, has 10lbs of oil pressure and is tapping like none other. so tonight we start the tear down. first we notice that it has 289 hi-po heads. a rocker was just flopping around in there and the pushrod was down real far... so we take off the lower intake and discover a blown up lifter and no lifter wishbones or the hold down. then there was a piece of metel clogging the rear oil port. so we pull out a lifter and find its a solid flat tappet lifter... cant imagine why this motor was grenaded. it also appears to be a carbed hyd. roller motor, 85 i assume? what you guys think, sounds messed up and whoever built the motor should never be allowed to touch a wrench again.

haha. this motor also had an assortment of all different pushrods. my poor friend bought the car for 4 grand. all it has is an 8 point cage that has the worst welds i have ever seen and the door bars are almost at your shoulder. the hoop above the windshield is about inch and a half from the roof so you cant see anything unless you slouch down...what a piece
