Default Fuel pump Questions????

So every once and a while my car will start acting up. The check engine light will start to flash and I can here the fuel pump relay start clicking in time with the CEL. Is this my fuel pump crapping out or do I have a short? I just replaced the relay about 6 months ago. I replaced it while I was throwing parts at another problem. Iv'e tried to pull codes but there is a problem with my to my scanner port. As you can see in my sig below this is a transplant that the previous owner had done. I have found some shotty wiring jobs. I feel like yanking all of the wiring out and starting over. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

If it is the fuel pump what should I replace it with? Do I need a regulator?

Thanks,
Double "O"

try to replace the fuel relay first, its under the pass seat, then move onto the fuel pump/filter, put a walbro 155lph in tank pump with aeromotive adjustible fuel regulator from 30-70psi, set it at 38-40psi for stock setup, check to make sure your tray that holds the pump hasn't broke loose that may cause intermittent problems. good luck

i had problems with my fuel pump and it was my wiring it would just not run

i actually wired it rite to the battery for temporary use

i just put in a whole ne dash harness and im going to put in the other harness that goes under the carpet
this should fix your problem if your pump is still good

Thanks guys! I figured that the tank was going to have to come down. When you drop the tank is there enough wiring harness and fuel lines for it to be lowered enough to disconnect or is it going to be a B!tch?

Thanks for the help and link. I'm thinking of getting a new tank while I'm at it.
