If it's going to be a track car, like you said, gut it, it's free... You'll lose more weight with the carpet, seats, ect... I'm running about 1950 lbs in a notch, still got the p/s&seats...
Holy **** dude, that's a light *** car! What did you do to get it that light? Gut it and punch holes in the frame??!! lol, I've also heard to remove your front sway bar, I think it drops like 20-25 lbs and doesn't affect straight line driveability.

No holes... You'd be amazed at how much extra weight is in the interior... I've been meaning to weigh it (have it all in a couple boxes), it's got to be 150lbs, throw a spare tire jack and other odds and ends, it adds up quick... Not to mention only about 5 gallons of gas when I weighed it...
