HELP!What Drag Race Suspension setup for 83??
Ive got an 83 GT that needs a drag suspension on a budget. I know alot of guys are fast on stock arms and springs.10s. Anyways I already have purchased the following:
-Energy and Prothane bushings and all the rest of the suspension components for front and rear.
-Strange 10 way adjustable shocks
I need any and all suggestions on what would be the most efficent setup with money in mind. Please post your setups on here so I and We can understand better. I was strongly considering buying adjustable struts also. I could really use some sound advice on this. THANX.Ryan

Southside machine lift bars
Welded Subframe Connectors
No front say bar
4 cyl or drag springs up front
matching struts up front for the adjustable shocks you've got out back
put the battery in the trunk
Slicks and skinnies.... should haul ***

Heres the deal summit f****d up and told me they have strange adjustable struts for my year car,1983. Strange does make a 10 way adjustable shock for my car which I already have. Summit set me up with a strut which on the box is labeled for an 86 (or 87 I can't remember) through 93 Mustang. I'm about to send it back but I'd really love to use it! Does anyone know if it will work or not? and why, if not?OR...

Ok taking into consideration that I want adjustable struts what would the best choice be? Budget wise of course

i don't think you want 90/10's in back...
my set up in our 86' is:
lakewood 90/10's front, 50/50 backs
lakewood lowers, adjustable uppers, welded torque boxes w/ plates on bottoms
thru floor subframes tied into the rocker panels
8 cylinder springs in back, 4 cylinder up front(might switch to a set of moroso trick fronts i have)
5 gallon fuel cell, dual batteries in the trunk
460, c6
edit: also took out front sway bar and still have to add a tube k-member to clear the headers. we capped off the power steering rack, it might last for a while.

lol! motor mounts....
i'm sure the struts work for an 83....call them<strange>.....if i was you look up z motorsports dave zimmerman has what you need
btw battle boxes!...better off doing it now than waiting for something to break like i did.
