Default auto to manual conversion?

i found a roller, no engine and no tranny but the tranny was auto and i want a manual. its a good price for the body and stuff, i was just wondering how hard would it be to convert it to a manual? how much would it cost me? what parts would i have to buy? what tools would you recommend using? could a person with average mechanic skills do this or what? any of you done this before? if so how hard was it? time is not a issue and money isn't that much of an issue. also if you guys have any sites to give me some better info on it, it would be helpful. thanks,
