would a 2800 launch with some M/T be too much for a stock rear?
I'd say it depends on your gear and how fast you let out the clutch. My friend had stock gears and on his 3rd launch his axle snapped. he was letting the clutch out too quicktly and bogging the car even at around 4000rpm. if you have lower gears its probably going to be a different story.

I got 3.55's. The rearend is about 12,000 miles old.

If it breaks you will have your answer. Then it is time to hit the wrecking yards for another one to build with good components, that is if the car does not do something stupid and hit the wall. Especially at half track or something. That would be bad. I would not wish that on my worse enemy.

now ya'll got me scared!! although my nittos hooked pretty damn well from a 3 grand launch at the track and i didn't have a problem. Although I havn't hit the bottle yet.
