MAF/MAS

RE: MAF/MAS
Bucking problem means its probably in need of a tune. As in a chip, dyno tune or whatever you wanna call it. I'm guessing you didn't put all the stuff together, I would ask whoever you bought it from if its been taken to a tuner. After you do that I bet 90% of your drivability problems are gone.

So what should I look for as far as MAF goes? I am not worried about fuel injectors...I plan on running an alcohol/methanol injection kit to pick up where the injectors start to run out. I am new to Ford EFI and any help I get would be great I wan't the car to run right with the larger injectors...will a certain MAF fix my bucking problem?

Unfortunately there is no 1 'right' answer for your MAF. The choice you make will depend on some other factors though.
With that setup, forget about running a stock computer without a tune. Boost, and a stock tune can cause bucking issues by messing up the load calculation, which in turn messes up the fuel and ignition timing calculations. Basically, your tune is a mess right now.
The next question for you is important...
Do you think you have the patience to learn how to tune a wild combo like this yourself, or would you rather take it to a shop?
There are options available like the PMS, tweecer, etc, which will allow you to tune the car yourself.
OR
You can find a local dyno shop.
Don't even think about mail order chips with that combo.
Now, we can get back to the MAF...
The most accurate Ford MAF out there is the 90mm Lightning MAF or LMAF.
You can run this on your car, but you MUST have a tune done to the computer.
I ran some datalogs on my 408w a while back, which showed that my n/a 408w was maxing out my 30Lb injectors.
My point is that you should not be considering any injector smaller than the 42 units, because you are running boost.
Too much injector is forgivable, but too little injector will destroy your motor FAST.
If it were me...
I would get an LMAF and 42Lb green injectors (a little larger may be needed though, it depends on your boost level).
Then take the car to a dyno shop for a tune, or invest some time to learn to tune yourself.
I would love to hear more on your project... It sounds pretty wild!
Let us know how things pan out for you

RE: MAF/MAS
first why pay some one to tune a car when there is several self tuners out there..and with 42's you WILL have to have something unless you like to have to floor it to get it sarted and run rich as heel at idle
as for maf on the late 90's on the computer calibrates the maf this is why the Lightening maf is so popular with us fox guys

Being more specific I have the 03-04 Cobra "Blue Giant" injectors part # 0 280 156 127. I am pretty sure that it is the stock computer. Car is an '89 gt convertable. Motor is a 393 twin turbo. What kind of MAF should I be running for these injectors/computer set up?
