1990 GT ?

theres a guy who is selling his 1990 GT with 130k 5 speed in fair condition
he owns a body shop and said the only thing wrong with it is the heater core
he said he would fix it for free once i buy the car
is 2000 a fair price for this stang?

Whats fair condition? Pics would be helpful also. If the interior is VERY clean and has no dents or rust, just paint fade, then $2000 is not a bad asking price.

RE: 1990 GT ?

yeah the interior is in amazing condition and it started up strong not weak or any weird noises
the paint is ok but with a good wash and wax i think itll really clear up
it has new rear tires and asking price was 2800
but he dropped it to 2000
i have a question are 5.0's engines built to last?
i just have never bought a used mustang so i dont really know
thanks alot for answering my questions

yea, these motors can take some abuse and they last a long time too...no reason you can't get close to 200K miles out of the motor if its well taken care of

Yes, 5.0 engines will last a very long time if they are well maintained. There are numerous people on this site running 180K+... even a few in the high 200K+

Sounds like a decent car especially if hes going to replace the heater core for you. Thats alot of man hours to replace that. Pictures would defiently help but from how you are explaining the car it definetly sounds like a great deal. If it runs strong, hes replacing the heater core, paint is good and interior is good I would definetly go for it. Is it all stock?

Make him fix it first before you buy it, all you need is to buy it and then have him say he doesn't wanna do it anymore for whatever reason, and then you get stuck with that to fix, cause its no fun and costs quite a bit to do if you don't wanna do it yourself...

RE: 1990 GT ?

it had some sort of cold air intake
but thats pretty much it
and it had a gauge on the hood
it was engine temp i think?

Well, hopefully it was unmolested! Make sure to check for rust though, ALL OVER. Especially common areas like the hatch, trunk area, etc.

Also, check the torque boxes to make sure that they havent been ripped apart from hard launching... the TB's will help you gain some knowledge of how the car was treated....
