Default Same oh Fan Question

Call me an idiot but I'm having serious Mark VIII electric fan issues. I'm no wiring genious but I can follow directions. I've rpinted the wiring diagram that is posted in the forums and followed it. I have a flexalite fan controller and a 75 amp relay. Questions? Do you twist both high speed and low speed fan wires together before hooking them up to the relay? Where does the (86) terminal on the 75 amp relay hook to on the Flexalite controller? My positive wires after the relay are hooked directly on the positive battery post. Do I need to move them to the starter relay? I'm popping the 30 amp fuse in my positive wire after the relay between the battery. The ground is on the battery post as well. I also have a powermaster 140 amp alternator. Any help is appreciated.

The 75 amp relay is what the numerously posted schematic calls for.

Ok you need a THERMOFAN SWITCH. Thats what actually turns the fan on at the desired temp. The positive wire wire should be routed through that. The ground you can actually connect to the chassis, if youd be so inclined. If you could post the schematic again Id be willing to take a look at it. But I believe that the + wire should be routed through the power distribution block. Post that schematic again.

only hook up hi speed, dont hook low speed up to it

the terminal (86) hooks into the orange wire off the fan controller(if you use the controller they used) terminal (86) is what will activate the relay

you can use any source of 12v as you want, starter solenoid battery dont matter

id use a 45 amp fuse myself, or the 14 awg fuseable link they used, the fan will pull huge current

edit: after reading the article they measured the current through the fan at 40 amps, of course 30 amp fuse wont work =],

So hook the terminal 86 on the relay to any 12v source? starter relay, battery post, etc. etc.? Does it need to be switch power or constant power? I really appreciate the info...
