I broke my car tonight...

Was leaving work...did a small clutch dump and hear a gear grinding sound. I lost power steering and my batter light came on, needless to say the word '****' was said a few times. Popped the hood, the pulley on the fan bent, snapping the shaft right out of the water pump. So now I need a new fan assembly and water pump.
How long and expensive of a job would this be?
Thanks guys....

Water Pump = $300-325 Installed (Part is like $80)
Fan Assembly = $150-250 depending on extent of damage.

my fan took a bite out of my radiator shroud!
because when i pulled my motor i noticed the drivers side motor mount was F*CKED
it did the same thing.. pulled the shaft out..
cant wait til i get my 5.0 on the road again

Eh, well, fate seems to be against me. I mostly fixed my car today...got the fan on and noticed it was bent, so I need a fan now. I did get the new water pump, radiator and all that jazz installed. Just need to get my hands on a damn fan. It sucks becuase I am flat broke right now

2 or 3 hours.... jesus christ... you either do things backwards or your giving this guy some buffer room... I changed out upper and lower hoses, t-stat, radiator and water pump on an 88lx in 1 hour

I didn't use any silicone on the gasket...I used this stuff called "indian head gasket maker" coated on the paper gasket. I coated all of the bolts in tefflon. I'd better not get any damn leaks! =P

+1...unless it was all apart when you started, or there was a time change in the middle of the work....

no, its not bull****, it was not apart, i am just that damn good. the car had an electric fan so i ddint have to worry about the clutch fan.
3/8" air wrenches are your friend....
i didnt drain the system prior to removing the water pump, just pulled it off
