Should I buy this 91 5.0/
Let me start by saying Hello to all. I've been a silent reader of the forum for a while but the time has come to register and post.
A coworker of mine called me to offer up his 1991 5.0 mustang for $2,200 with factory wheels and old tires, or $3,000 for Cobra wheels and new Fuzion ZRi tires.
Here are the specs he gave based on my questions:
3:73 gear ratio, Bearings replaced, Flowtech headers and off-road H Pipe Flowmasters, Rebuilt Tranny (2 years ago), Ratchet Shifter a.k.a. "the hammer", Edelbrock performer heads and intake, Motorsport E Cam, 24 lb injectors, 190 fuel pump, 70mm throttle body, k&n filter, ASP Pulleys, BBK fuel regulator, MSP Ignition coil, B&M 2800 stall.
The engine runs great and the car is a dream to drive. The paint looks like a bad black maaco paint job. The interior is original and has quite a bit of wear and tear. The driver side door lock is busted and the low engine coolant light comes on frequently.
I'm thinking about offering him $2600 for the total package and seeing what he says. I appreciate any and all advice that you all can give. Thanks in advance!

i'd flash $2200 cash infront of him and see if he tkaes it
seems like its a nice car but still needs work. interior is easy on a fox body if u plan to keep it stock.
mileage and rust will significantly alter the value of the car

I forgot to post that it has 160,000 miles. He claims that the odometer is wrong because he changed the gear ratio. Also, the speedometer is all over the place. I'll have to get another part to fix this problem.
Thanks for the replies so far.

Mileage dont count, I see this car is already modded and maintained/ priced affordably and judging from your comments, it sounds like its something you want.
You are ahead of the game at a resonable price.
The odometer being all over the place meens it was removed and tampered with, forgive him for that, but tell him you can never turn back the hands of time after you buy it.
Sounds Like A Winner!

+1...There is more than 2,200 in parts on that car...Go for it.
Also...I don't know why people hate on the Fuzion ZRi tires, lol...I used to be able to smoke my Daytonas all day long...the Fuzions are actually pretty sticky for being a cheap tire.
