Default Still haveing headlightt issues.

I have yet to figure out what the problem is. I can pull the switch out toturn them on and all i get is headlights. The taillghts and dash light are inop. I can push the switch in just a bit and make them work. I have tried 3 different switches and nothing changes. I thought maybe the brake light switch might have a issue so I tried a different switch for it and nothing helps. If anyone has any ideas please feel free to express them. I am at a lose as to what is going on. does the cicuit have fusable links or some sort of relay? I dont have a book on it to follow the wiring. Please if you know of something or have a book please help a fella out.

Have you checked the fuse for the dash/running lights. The fact that you can manipulate them throught the switch suggests it is bad. But since you've replaced it, dunno. Possibly the dimmer/turn signal switch.

All the fuses in the fuse panel are good. I was thinking maybe the multi function switch also. I just know I gotta get it figured out. Also another problem I am having while I have a thread going here. My voltage gauge will spike at 16 volts when over 3000rpm All the lights will get really bright but it affects the running of the car in noway. I just dont wanna fry the battery. And the alt was just replaced about 3-4 months ago. I know this doesnt mean it isnt bad. Any info on this would be good also.

That could be a regulator issue. It shouldn't charge much more than 14 volts.
