Default Blew up my 94' 5.0

Ok so last night at 3am I was horsin' my 94' GT around and I heard a quick shatter and then a clunck and my car died... after rocking my car for about an hour, I broke the motor free and got it running... I knew my motor was done, becuse oil had gone everywhere and I suspect I threw a rod out the block as I only made it another mile before the car simply wouldn't move any farther. My question is... since I'm going to replace the engine now.... CAN I ONLY USE A 5.0 OUTTA OF A 94'-95" GT??? It makes it kinda hard to finding one.

I'm pretty sure you can use one from any 87-95....since the intake manifold is a little different on the 94-95s you'll have to reuse it (they have a slight bend in the neck, whereas 87-93 are straight.

Any 5.0 block will work, but you will have to reuse your intake and maybe your heads, although I'm not 100% sure on the heads.

The intake and timing cover are different. The heads are the same.

isnt the stuff that bolts on the front a little different also? If so you could just reuse your old stuff.

yep, just order any "5.0 long block" and move your intake and accessories over to new engine.

The entire short block is the same as any 87+ mustang. But as they said the intake/accesories are pretty much different. So thats going to be reused.

You can use ANY 302. Period. You will have to change out accesories (ps pump, alt, etc), intake, oil pan (depending on what the motor is out of)etc.etc.

^^^^ Yea, he's right on.

Just generally when you do the swap your aiming for a 87-92 short block with the forged pistons. At least i would be.
