What piston rings for a 1988?

What piston rings for a 1988?
ASSUMING it's a 1988.. Where would I check this on the block (I see some casting numbers near the rear main seal.. Will ti actually say 1988, or...?).. I got some from summit part number SLP-E-458K which comes up as 1.5mm 1.5mm 4.0.. I know they switched to metric, but I'm unsure of the year? Anyone know? Thanks!
