Default Looses power/stutters under load

I have a 89 f-150 truck, with the 5.0 that misfires/stutters/looses power under load. It started a few days ago on the highway and now it does it everywhere.

I changed the fuel filter and put dry gas in it. The truck idles fine it just doesn't run good under load.

Any ideas?

And i know this is a mustang forum but ive posted here before and gotten lots of help so im crossing my fingers.

Edit:

The lights also flicker on and off now. Its odd.

As for the spuddering and loss of power, you were on the right track. Pick up a fuel pressure tester set, you can nab them on ebay for 50 bucks or less, and check out your fuel pressure at idle, and while driving. It should be about 37psi with the vacume line off, and shouldnt drop much below that.

Ok, ill check the distributor cap tomorrow

I ordered a inline fuel regulator, its about a foot towards the gas tank from the fuel filter.

My pumps work because i switched both tanks and it still stutters on both tanks.

the truck used to do it at 75 mph, now it does it real bad, and i can barely get through town at 25 mph.

if the inline fuel regulator doesnt fix it what other ideas do we have?

They checked the coil and the distributor, still a no go. Going to get it scanned tuesday.

Now if it was a plug or wire, how come it only stutters when warm or under load?

Check your grounds...I had a very simmular problem. Replace my grounds and problem fixed. Mess with the battery lately or have starting problems?
