dallas does emissions like california. but you dont need to know all the carb eo #'s

houston san anonio and el paso do the two speed idle test.

there are always ways around the tests tho, i just got a sticker for my car ($26.50) and i have no cats and dumps.

i just had to give the tech doing the inspection $40 instaed of the regular $26.50.

when i register my vehicles (texas) I just tell them that the car was a gift, when they ask for the approximate value of the vehicle i just tell them it doesnt run and it is probably only worth 200$. I just got my stang registered and a new sticker for 120, sticker was like 75$. so that is pretty cheap. As far as smog and other things i have never had a smog test run. But my car gets inspected on an island with 3000 people, so they pretty much dont care!

+1, you just got hit with some one time transfer fees,
my yearly Texas registration runs like $50
its also only like $60 on my 2002 Tahoe, so dont sweat it.

smog test are only done in Houston, Dallas and SanAntonio and thier neighboring counties
