Default Rear end question

I have a 94 5.0 and just put gas on it last week. I have the nitto 555r's on it but was considering buying a set of weld wheels and putting a real set of slicks underneath it. What do i have to do from breaking the rearend or whatever else? Also if any of you guys have gas with a 373 gear- is it smart to spray out of the hole or just wait till second gear?
