I'm more of a carb fan, but I hear good things about Trick flow's track heat intake. I would get that.

I'd go with trickflow, edlebrock, or a gt40 intake. But your really not gonna see that much gains without some better flowing heads, and if you do heads you might as well do a cam too. You might actually hurt your low end with a new intake, but not much.

the motor was rebuilt before i bought the car. it has lass than 5000 miles on it, and if i understand correctly there must be some work done to the heads to use the 1.7rr??? but my uncle said he was told the heads had some work done to them, but he wasnt sure. he bought the car right after a guy put it all back together, and he only put like 3000 miles on it within a couple years

You can put 1.7's on stock heads i believe. But i'd hope they did something to the heads if they rebuilt the motor. Is there any way you could find out for sure ? The might be stock heads, but ported. When you take off your intake and vavle covers, you should be able to tel if they are stock heads or not.

The BBK upper intake looks sweet as hell. It's expensive like all of them are, but it sure looks mean

the guy who rebuilt it was the owner of the car who was a mechanic in the navy, i believe it was mostly a stock rebuild and i am 99.9% sure they are stock heads

The heads on mine have stonger springs to accomidate the 1.7's. I have the Trick Flow street intake, and love it. Its designed for 0-5500 rpms. Though my cam will pull to 6400 or so, the shift points of my auto will only go to 5600 or so. Otherwise, the Track heat is designed for 1500-6500, or something like that. If you had a cam to go with all of what you have, it'd probably be the way to go. Otherwise ,with a stock, lower rpm cam, I'd think you actually take away a little from the potential of the bottom end power, though a track heat would still probably be better bottom end than a stock intake. Also, both Trick Flow intakes are made with a 75mm throttle body inlet, so you wouldn't have any problems fitting a 70 mm on them.
