Ok your turn to help me out!!

RE: Ok your turn to help me out!!
I followed this plan also. Basically I took off the license plate, and put a hole slightly to the pass side right behind the license plate. You'll notice on that switch in the pic you linked to, it has a nut that you can tighten. If you drill the hole the correct size, you can tighten the nut down right to the body. Then I used a strip of metal that came from under my dash and with spacers bolted it to the top left and top right corners of where the license plate will go,. Then I got those little puck shaped magents superglued all the way across that strip of metal (which sits about an inch back from the frame. Then with the two hinges on the bottom (also with spacers) the license plate folds down when I get to the track revealing the plate, which just rests against the back bumper. Then when I'm ready to leave, I just fold the plate back up, and when it hits the magnets it is firmly planted. I will get some pics this weekend and post them. I know you're nto interested in mangling your car up like this, or putting this much work into it, but I wouldn't mind sharing my cleverness with everybody on here.

To pass tech doesn't the switch have to be up a certain height on the car? I know most cars at the track have it going through the truck decklid on next to a tail light. Pro aren't you going to the track saturday? Maybe you could get some ideas there.

LOl, comeon man, no hokey mods on my car. I'll work it out, it won't be a problem. If I had more time, the flip down licence plate idea would be perfect.

This may sound stupid, but if you have a hitch, it would be a snap to mount it to a bracket made for holding a wiring harness connector. Home Depot or a hitch installer may have a bracket that will bolt right up. Try the 5 or 7 pin bracket.
