Default HELP. Where do I start?

(Im new to the forum and cars/mustangs.)About two months ago I bought a 1991 mustang 5.0 hatchback 5speed. I plan on using the car as a daily driver and drag. (when all is said and done). When i first bought it was all stock except for 3&1/2 (or 3/4) inch bbk H-pipe exhaust piping with no cats or mufflers and a "racing cluth" which has a EXTREMELY stiff clutch pedal. The car has 170k miles on it. needs new headers, tires, body work. I upgraded the exhaust system with 2&1/2 inch with flowmaster mufflers and steel cats (i think by magnaflow) with X piping. also a BBK cold air intake with sensor.

but for more power, Where do I start upgrading. Cam? Heads? Headers? Rockers? Pullies? Upper and lower intake manifolds? Ram air intake? Computer? Fuel system? Engine rebuild kit? Throttle body? and which brand?

I plan on using the car as a daily driver and drag. (when all is said and done).

Welcome to the forums and congratz on the car

There are some simple things you can do for power, but it all depends on the budget. One thing you can do is advance your timing. That's something you cna do for free and you can gain 18 - 24 HP just by advancing your timing 6 degrees. Underdrive pullies are also decent for some minor gains, and they are cheap. Looks like you already upgraded the exhaust and got a Cold Air Intake (CAI.)

What's your budget look like? You can always look at upgrading your Heads / Cam / Intake (HCI), or you cna simply bolt on a supercharger kit. Nitrous is also a possibility. It all depends on what you want to do and where you want to go with this.

One bit of advice though... slow down and take it one step at a time. It sounds like you are trying to do too much at once. That's one hell of an upgrade list you have there. Just start slow and take it one easy step at a time. The people here are generlly friendly and will be more than happy to help answer questions along the way!

Wow, how could i forget to mention gears! That's a HUGE help in the acceleration department and it's cheap.

Brands are somewhat opinions, but some are better than others. Dont buy the cheapest knock off parts just to get them. Plan ahead and do one thing at a time. You have a good exhaust, good air intake. Check your fuel system before spending large amounts cash on parts, the stock setup will work for some time until you get to more bolt ons like a H/C/I swap. Listen to the good advice above, and post ups some pics!
