On my stock gauge, my oil pressure only drops less than one line when idling. When the revs are up a bit, it's at the line above the middle line. I can't wait to install my gauges tommorow and find out what the pressure is really doing.

Oh, and my stock gauge has never gone anywhere near all the way down.

its normal to fluctuate but dropping down to nothing isn't the best... its a sign the oil pumps on its way out, i've read that minimumally you need 10psi per 1000 rpms but those are forum numbers, not from a tech article or magazine. I'd look into dropping the oil pan and inspecting the pump and pickup. good luck, i wouldn't feel comforatable below 30 psi at idle and wann have50-55psi at WOT.

+1 Hell yea! Your not even supposed to drive your car if you are below 15 psi. On my stock gauge, the most I have dropped is maybe half of a line below half way... max!

It IS normal for oil pressure to spike up like that BUT its not normal to sit at 0 when idling... that would definetly be something I would look into.

I agree that its a good possibility that its the gauge BUT even if it was bad/innacurate it still shouldnt drop that low... I guess get a new gauge and try it out. BTW, all my gauges work perfect lol
