Nah im talkin bout buying a used SN-cobra. 96-98. My father's a mechanic, and i have use of his lifts/tools. Besides, if i decide to go the cobra route im gonna make sure the one im buying is solid. but yea, if i do build it ill probably start with heads and rockers, then slowly do the intake/cam/supporting mods, then eventually stroke it. Its not going to be one big shebang, but rather a slow, eventual build.

How streetable are built 347s in relation to a 4.6 cobra?
mmmmm, liiifffftttt

must be nice.

Oooooo it is. It's got me spoiled though, you wont find me on my back in the driveway, even if it's just an oil change. I just say hey dad, hold a bay, im coming through today.

P Zero, I know the drivetrain has to be built.... thats the frustrating part [:@]. I feel like im wasting money with it, even though it IS necessary.... and btw, how much $$ are you getting a T-5 for? Ive already blown out my stock t-5, and i only have o/r h-pipe, FM catback, CF DF clutch, and 3:73s....

I was getting my T-5 for around $500 for a 50K trans. Cheapest I gever got one for was $250. . Most of the trannies I fried had bearing failure, namely the ones between the input and output shaft. A new output shaft, costs around $500. BUt most of the time the cases were unusable [:@].

Lifts are cheap but the garage is expensive.

More like T-56. I even tried experimenting with different fluids and combinations of fluids in the T-5's. I tried 80/90, it was too thick the synchros couldnt cut through it and it would grind. Ive found that if I mix 50% Atf with 50% 80/90 the trannies would last A LOT longer. You have to granny shift till the trans heats up though. I have this really bad habit of going 120+, its the heat that kills em mostly. Ive only blown 2 trannies actually drag racing, 1 dumped so hard it lost the shift pattern, cracked the case [:@].

+1 on the T-5's goin up in price, and the crappy part is theyre still junkie transmissions. Baller, if your tranny's still working, get a G-force kit for it. Theyre meant to handle something like 500hp.

TKO's aer nice trannies but the G-force T_5 is cheaper and you dont have to get a bunch of additional stuff to make it fit, way cheaper overall install cost.
