How do you handle A/C lines when pulling motor?

I was wondering if someone could tell me how to handle the A/C lines when pulling motor. The engine compartment is getting painted and everything has to come out. I can't believe just how much crap is under the hood (85GT). UGH !!

uhhh I just yanked mine off [8D] smelled kinda funny for abit and it came out pink......

well with my experience with pulling motors in five'ohs i've left the compressor, lines and all the goodies alone and left them in the car. But I wasn't painting the engine bay either.

Im not 100% sure but if i were you i would unscrew them from the firewall block, Im trying to remember from memory of other cars, if you did that im pretty sure youd need to have the ac recharged, OR you can plug the ends coil them up nicely and put a shopping bag over the lines and tape the rest of it up, and then you can hang it off something, or you can probably figure it out from there.
