Default Question bout intake manifold.

Is anyone running the explorer intake on their 5.0? I see them all over ebay being sold as "GT-40" Good thing I know the diffrence. If so do they offer any performance above the stock manifold?

yes, the explorer intake is nearly identicle to the cobra intake. suposedly it flows a little better too.
do a search on the forum, this question has been asked about 5 times this month.

dont buy them off of e-bay, go to a junk yard.

ya i have it on my car. it came with it when i bought it. the cars pretty quick and i know that intake made a big differance on it. The guy also put the gt40 heads on it as well which actually slowed down the car. so when i get time to put the stock heads back on the car will go from 14.2 to 13.7

???????????
Something is not right if the GT40s slowed the car down, whether they are P heads are standard irons. Stock E7s will most likely slow you down.

The manifolds on the explorer are gt-40's. Also, gt-40 heads will not slow you down... they outflow e7's. Something is wrong with your car than. And you especially wont gain 1/2 second from putting stock heads back on...

So the explorer intake and the GT-40 intake are nearly identical, but he explorer flows better than the GT-40? Doesn't seem sensible. [&:] I know either of the GT-40 or GT-40P heads are better than stock, for sure.

some people say funny things

i'll tell ya what woodard... if you seriously think that the E7 heads will make your car faster... put them on, change nothing else, and run the car. If you go even 0.1 second faster, i'll pay for the heads...

bunch of bull**** getting spread on this forum

and your one of them....it's possible the car slow'd down...due to a too small maf or throttle body..restricted exhaust etc
