how much horsepower could i have if i put a 347 stroker kit on a 302? how much would it cost?
The only downside to the 302 based strokers is the lack of strength in the factory blocks. If you think you will be making more than 450-500hp, then start thinking about an aftermarket 302, or swapping in a 351w.
Most folks say the 351w block can safely handle 600-700hp, or more (depending on who you ask).
The advantage of the 302 based stroker (over the 351w) is that there are no conversion pieces needed. Like p/s brackets, lower intake manifold, etc. More of your money can go into the motor.
