boost gauge maxed

Default boost gauge maxed
i know someone who bought an 03 cobra with about 1k on it, it came with a k&n cold air intake on it, and when you punch it the boost gauge maxes out, and its a 10psi gauge, but stock is supposed to be only 8psi, could the gauge be inaccurate? or could someone have put a smaller pully on it? any thoughts? thanks

HOW ACCURATE ARE STOCK SUPERCHARGER GAUGES NOW DAYS???

well I would buy a new gauge then work from there...when you buy used anything is possible
