Default 28 or 31 spline?

What spline do i have in the rear end??? Will the traction lock i get have to be the same... just making sure.

Yes, you have to match your trac-loc and axles splines. Can't put a 28 axle in a 31 carrier and vice versa.

Has way more to do with traction and suspension than hp. Launching off the limiter with slicks/suspension on a bone stock motor can tear the axles to shreads fairly easily as well.

That's very conservative. I know lots of guys that go 1.4s on stock axles. I'd probably look to upgrade in the 1.5 area.

I've seen a guy at cecil county drag strip which is a well preped track snap an axle and go into the wall with 14 sec car. If you plan on running slicks I'd upgrade the axles and install c clip eliminators just for safety reasons. They could save you a lot of money in the long run. It think you'll be fine w/ 28 spline but you should probably get stronger axles.

I wouldn't upgrade to stock spline. Just save a little more until you can get everything to go 31 spline.
