Hey Lookin, I thought you had more posts than that! Are you not the "Lookin4astang" that I've talked to before--the one who I always call, "Lookin"?

Yeah, I can understand that. I tossed and turned for a week or two, trying to decide on the best location. See, the thing is, I don't have good luck in terms of not getting robbed. I've had to replace so many windows in the past...even when I was living in Newport Beach, CA...that I decided to get as stealth of a gauge setup as possible. I figured the lower the better, so I could throw something over them when I park outside. I toyed with the idea of turning the panel upside-down, but then I wouldn't be able to cover the gauges so casually. At any rate, thanks for the replies everyone.

The other thing is, I may be moving back to Center City, Philadelphia, and crashing with my parents while I get my Master's Degree. In that neighborhood, the crackheads were even breaking into my 86 Jetta to scrounge for pennies!

Thanks, Gary.

Hey fellas, I was thinking of getting some binoculars lens covers that would fit over each of the three gauges, if I move back to Philly. Do you think it would fool the average junkie?

OK, time for a reality check.....

There are not many Junkies in center city philly, just drunk college students

do you mean kensington???? west philly???? the badlands???????

I have had my vert in center city a bunch of times and nobody messes with it.

the other neighborhoods will never get to see my car, unless they steal it in center city and drive it home.

Well, technically, it's Northern Liberties--around 5th and Spring Garden. And the last time I lived there (8 years ago), there were empty red/blue/yellow-top vials littering the streets that my parents live on. I once caught a junkie stealing my mountain bike out of my garage, and then he tried to assault me, so I smashed his nose to pieces. My old Jetta was broken into twice, and a man was shot dead, literally on my parents front steps--all in the one-year period that I lived there. Given, it's cleaned up a lot in the last few years--more artists and yuppies, and fewer dealers on the corners--but the streets are still hot. Thanks for the reality check though.

Nothing really. My point was just that, because of their location, I could throw some random, worthless thing in front of the gauges to cover them up in hot neighborhoods.
