RE: crazy idea
I declare shenanigans on everyone!!!! I would do this type of setup... A guy I know in Tulsa, OK named Kit Luong has 1400hp on his 91 GT hatch, and is street legal. He has a 351 4 bolt dart block... He's using a set of trickflow Twisted Wedge Heads with as much porting as can be done, and some huge valves (not honestly sure how big). He has a huge blower on it too, but not sure what kind. He told me he runs 4 dual 4 inch exhaust all the way back, and I think the primary tubes on his long tube headers are something like 2 1/8" which is massive. His is tagged and insured and can be driven on the street. Honestly, he says he only drives it to the gas statin down the street, and maybe to go pick up a pizza close by, but it never gets driven more than 5 or 6 miles at a time. He runs 8.20s on his best day, and 8.60-8.80 are the normal for him. He hasn't even gotten fully through his suspension yet, and is running on a 10.5 slick. The setup I am looking to do is that block stroked and poked to a 408ci small block. Use the twisted Wedge heads I already have on my 306, but get them maxed out in the porting department, springs, etc... Will take a very custom grind cam and a very large cam... Probably something in the .750-.800 lift range. Then, I will strap on either a top-end pro-charger kit, intercooled, running around 20-25 lbs of boost. I will do this through a custom sheetmetal box style intake. Then, the chassis is going down to Mike Duffy for a mini-tub job, a full cage with through the floor subframe connectors. and maybe even a ladder bar setup. coilover front and back, adjustable everything, and a set of 33x15ish Mickey Thompsons.

RE: crazy idea
I don't think you're made of the time involved to do what you're thinking of doing to the car. Body would twist like a f'ing bisexual. That'd have to be meca re-inforced. Need a massive rear-end. Need some way to cool it... like a 6 core radiator Have to put MASSIVE tires on the rear of it... or else it'd be pointless in having all that power. Big trans that's still a 3 or 4 or 5 speed as they're all 2-speeds that are made to handle that power. Among all the other things such as wiring & suspension. Every single one of those needs a MASSIVE amount of work and even more money.
I've been working on my car for two years... say roughly an average of 3 hours a day, and it's still not done, probably another month of work to it. And that's just keeping it mostly stock so R&R parts... not... R&Modify&Cut&Fit&Weld&Fit again&R. You have no idea how much work is involve in projects like this.

RE: crazy idea
maybe he means how someof them are stretched some (not sure if im talking about prostock, but drag cars that run 8s or so... i forget what im trying to talk about, but they basically look stock, but longer, and a lil diff...) i dunno, maybe thats what he means.
