driving along the highway a tt 300zx (old style) passes me when im doin 90 and rolls down his window thumbs down... he floors it and i floor it. i kept it in 4th and it wouldnt shift into OD from 3rd so i let off the gas and it still didnt shift so i give it gas and it just redlines... somehow it went into neutrol??? i shifted it into 3rd and then into 4th and it finaly shifted now wtf happend???

since the car was popping off the redline i could just watch the temp gauge rise and rise. way above where it usually sits (195).

now im scared i may have overheated it (even tho it wasnt at 270 its prob at about 250). got the hood open right now. checked the coolant, its all green.

oil pressure was also rising a tad. not a full bar but about 3/4

should i just downshift it myself from now on? i know it wont shift from WOT thats why i let off.. but it still wouldnt shift [:@]

im goin to take out in a little bit and see how she runs. ive had this car goin 120+ in 3rd and shifted into 4th like butter.. i dont know whats up

you my friend have found out why these transmission fail......I wish in the drives' manaul they would have put THAT TRANS CAN'T TAKE ALOT OF WOT IN 4TH ..IF YOU LUCKY YOU SHOULD CHANGED THE FLIUD AND FIlter and now I bet you wish you hadput in that trans, cooler..[]

sick of reading the stock gauges so i just ordered myself some autometer oil and water gauges. should be here monday and if the oil pressure is good ill be putting some money into this car. if its reading low im not even going to bother with it. car has treated me well but has too many miles (160k) i need something that can handle a beating and still be a good DD.

IF.. the pressure is good for sure ill order a trans cooler and shift kit right away.

anyway goin to take her for a spin. hopefully i didnt damage anything. im goin to run her up to 100 in 3rd and see if she shifts into 4th. if not.. shes getting parked
