Default getting really frustrated here

hey everybody, wanted to firstsay great forum! it really helped me out buying a stang when i need it.
so here is my problem i have 1987 gt. i just bought it 2 days ago i knew that it was overheating and so did the person i bought it from. so he putt a new fan and new radiator in but not a 3 core just a standard. so yesterday i ran the car for about an hour no problem ran smooth and did not run hot... but today i took it maybe 9 mile and then all of a sudden it ran in the 200's what the hell? i had to let it cool off for about 2 hours and then drive another 5 miles and then cool it for an hour until i could get it home.. do i need a 3 core? any sugestions?

Replace the thermostat. It sounds like it is getting stuck in the closed position at times. You can also run a bottle of Watter-wetter, but that is an enhancement, not a fix for your problem. As to 200*, until you break 220* or so you arent "overheating" (in my opinion 220 is where you go oh-crap!, my LT1 did not even turn the fans on until 227* according to the manual/ECU codes and it had aluminum heads!)

check water level in radiator (WHEN NOT HOT!!!) and see if your pump is leaking maybe causing you to lose coolant.

also the only other problem with this car is that the air does not blow out of the vent... all the air components are new except the blower... do you guys think that because im not getting any air in through the vents it could be the blower? someone said it could be a fuse, is this true... as you can see i am trying to learn as much as possible and all the knowledge is so greatly appreciated
