MAACO?

RE: MAACO?
I went to Maaco a few weeks ago for a bodywork and paint estimate on my Mustang. They have 3 different paint packages. The cheapest one is $299 and thats the one where the paint comes in a 55 gallon drum and they spray the car with a Wagner Power Painter. Then theres a middle of the road package thats fine for fleet trucks and something you want to look good for a week or two and then theres the $799 basecoat/clearcoat job. That one is the one you should get if you have them paint your car.
Surprisingly the estimate was written for replacing metal on my car instead of just throwing Bondo on it.
The total estimate was for $3575. I found a local shop thats going to do it for $2500 and Ive seen a car the owner painted 8 years ago that still looks great. Theyre guys that hang out at the local cruise spot.

RE: MAACO?
I agree with what you guys were saying, but seems like if they say the paint is going to be a factory match, all dings or dents removed, and will be prepped and taped off correctly, I dont care if it is a $100 paint job or a $5,000 one. They had better do it right if they said they were gonna. My dad had them redo his F150 since it was his main truck. Eventually it came out ok, but after a year the clear started peeling off and he sold it.
