Help with rockers....I'm confused here.
Me and the guy helpin me work on my car went to adjust the rockers today cuz i finally got my intake so we could put in the lifters and pushrods. Got the lifters in and droped in the pushrods. When we went to tighten down the rocker there wasnt enough thread for the nut, so it wouldnt tighten all the way to where there was zero lash, it was a bit loose still.
I'm using the crane conversion kit so i can use stud mount rockers. And i got comp cams roller tip rockers, non rail. Somebody here told me thats what i should get and be done with it. I know i shouldnt trust everything i hear, and find out for myself, but im in a rush with this.
Anyways, i'm not sure of what to do.
The paper that cam with the crane convesion kit say to use cran extruded aluminum rockers, crane energizer aluminum rockers, or crane standard cast rockers. I donno if they just put that on there so you buy their product, or if those are the only ones that really will work with it. The guy helpin me said longer pushrods might fix it, but i donno if it will or not. I got new pushrods for this, but i bought stock length, and i put them up to the old ones and they are exactly the same size. I donno where to turn for information here, should i call summit tech line ? Or crane or comp cams ? Anyone have any advice for me here ?

I'd call Crane....summit doesn't know tech about the products they sell....at least not when I've spoken w/ them. Any rockers should work, they just KNOW theirs will, so they advertise in their instructions.

Yea, i installed the pivot ball. The heads are gt40P's, and they have the same dimensions and sit just like e7's, so i figured i'd be fine with stock size pushrods, everyone else agreed too. Theres another guy on here that has P heads and 1.7 and reused his stock pushrods and all works fine for him.
And how would i know if i'm past zero lash?
